This March, the CME-DEI committee hosted the third annual DEI Colloquium, which was cosponsored by the Newark College of Engineering and the Office of Inclusive Excellence. This year's theme was Queer Advocacy and Leadership in Academia. The Colloquium consisted of a panel of four speakers - Dr. Ashlee Bird (Notre Dame), Dr. Keith Bowman (UMBC), Zaneta Rago-Craft Ed.D. (Monmouth), and Jira Uttarapong (NJIT) who shared their experiences as queer individuals in STEM and academic settings. The event opened with an address from NCE Dean Kam, and was moderated by Rev. Dr. Jonathan Wesley, the Director of the Office of Inclusive Excellence. The recording of the event is available on NJIT's YouTube channel, and can be viewed here.
