This award will be given to the graduate students who are sole lead authors of a peer-reviewed journal paper describing original research results and published or accepted for publication in an established research journal before the end of the fourth semester of their graduate studies. Publications in open access only journals are not eligible if a publication fee was paid. The paper must appear or be accepted in a qualified journal with the impact factor exceeding 2.0.
