Materials Engineering (MTEN)

Materials Engineering combines science and engineering to understand and control the relationships between the processing, structure, properties, and performance of materials. Materials Engineers use this knowledge to drive innovation across fields ranging from space exploration and energy to sustainable construction, electronics, healthcare, and the arts.

At NJIT, students can pursue materials science and engineering education and research through three degree programs:

  • B.S. in Materials Engineering
  • M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering
  • Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering

The department also offers Graduate Certificates in topics related to Materials Engineering.
