CME Department and Bergen Community College aligned their efforts in building a research-based pathway between New Jersey Institute of Technology Chemical and Material Engineering academic area and Bergen Community College STEM program.
The pilot program supported by Bergen Community College and Chemical Engineering Department involved 12 students from BCC and 7 faculty members. Knowledge-sharing atmosphere in each team, close communication with the CME faculty and student mentors, allowed the students to contribute to research projects, participate in the group meetings and even mentori high school students. The BCC faculty actively helped to align the offered research projects with the areas of interest of the students. At the end of the program BCC students will participate in the NJIT 2023 URI Symposium.
